A beacon of hope to disengaged young people using creativity to open the door to learning and development
Due to the impact of the pandemic and school closures, we have opted in to the DfE’s government funded 16-19 tuition fund to help students who may have missed out on crucial learning. Wac Arts College will use this funding to directly support our post 16-students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in maths and/or English, all of whom are on either a GCSE or a functional skills pathway. It will pay for specialist English and maths teachers to run small-group tuition sessions (no more than 5 per group) for these eligible students. These sessions will run in addition to their already timetabled maths and English classes with the aim of filling in any gaps in their knowledge. We will also provide internal CPD and support to ensure the progress of students and monitor the impact and effectiveness of what is being delivered.
