A beacon of hope to disengaged young people using creativity to open the door to learning and development
Wac Arts College Governing Body
The Governing Body supports the College to achieve its aim to find and nurture the talent and potential of every young person that comes through its doors. It has overall responsibility for the College in terms of its strategic direction, educational achievement, financial and people management and operations, including its staffing structures. This involves acting as a critical friend and ensuring accountability.
The aim of the governance structure is to:
The Principal is responsible for the day-to-day operations within the College as well as people management and decision-making in relation to College employees. Matters raised for appeal are normally referred to a panel of governors. Governors are responsible for determining the College’s staffing structure and the Principal is required to get authorisation on any plans for significant changes to the College’s human resources, such as re-organisation of the staffing structure.
The Principal meets regularly with the Governing Body to report on College progress, highlighting issues requiring Governors’ attention and makes recommendations about the College. Governors are expected to scrutinise the information available to them and use it to make strategic decisions relating to the College and its resources.
